About Donna

cropped-Donna-DeCunzo-Taddeo-RDLD.jpg Hello and Welcome to My Virtual Home! I am listing my C.V. so you can learn a little more about me and what we can do together.

I am an innovative and accomplished Registered and Licensed Dietitian specializing  in Weight Management,  Nutrition, Fitness and Wellness. I’ve been Certified in Group Exercise Training from the American College of Sports Medicine so I am able to pursue a hobby of teaching Aerial Fitness Classes.  In my  former private practice in Coral Springs, Florida, I had  researched and developed an extensive weight management program which became the foundation of the eDiets.com program, developed in 1996 through 2002. At that time I  was deemed a trailblazer in online dietetics products and services.

From 1996 to 2001 I was responsible for creating and administering the weight loss programs and nutrition and wellness components of eDiets.com’s products and services. I had completely overseen the development and ongoing refinement of all personalized diet and meal plans.  During this time it became the largest subscription-based online diet, fitness and counseling center available, where consumers can register for a private, personalized weight-loss or “healthy living” program accessible 24/7 from their computer. I developed and contributed to the eDiets.com newsletter, eDiets News, which had over 8.5 million subscribers upon my departure.

Some of my  successes include breaking new ground by developing gender-specific diet programs for eDiets.com: “eDiets for Women,” and “eDiets for Men.”  These programs address the unique caloric and metabolic needs of men and women, in addition to the different motivating factors and challenges for health and weight loss. Her creativity and expertise allowed her to contribute to related marketing programs, public relations and advertising campaigns.  Ms. DeCunzo-Taddeo has maintained high visibility with the press, and has been quoted and interviewed by large media outlets including CNN, NBC, The NY Times, Cosmopolitan, Women’s World, and Women’s Day.

Since 2002,  I have been  consulting for individuals and corporations, and have continued researching and developing new and innovative approaches to weight loss, healthy eating and wellness.   As former Nutrition Editor for CO-ED magazine, I had provided  feature articles  each week. I’ve also  authored the “Weight Loss and Weight Management” chapter written for the Florida Dietetic Association’s Diet 2005 Manual.  My  published articles include monthly nutrition columns for Diet.com,  Senior Life and Boomer Times, Fitness Link and Bella Online and Happy Times Monthly, as well as  nutrition-related articles for The National Lymphoma Foundation

I am a member of The American Dietetic Association (ADA),  Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, The American College of Sports Medicine,  National Council Against Health Fraud, Dietitians in Integrative and Functional Medicine, Sports, Cardiovascular, and Wellness Nutrition (SCAN)Sports, Cardiovascular, and Wellness Nutrition (SCAN), Dietitians in Weight Management and Dietitians in Healthy Aging.

My previous appointments include: the Media Committee and Education Committee for The Partnership For Healthy Weight Management, an F.T.C. partnership that encourages providers of weight management programs to provide consumers with fair and truthful information.

As former President and CEO and current Chair for Voodoo Tiki Tequila Corp.  I  have built the company from an idea for an innovative product through its current growth phase. By incorporating my expertise as a Registered Dietitian, I have developed the first alcoholic beverage sweetened with Stevia and infused with all natural flavor and color and has developed low calorie signature cocktail recipes for mixologists and consumers.
